Working closely with playground consultant Sparks at Play, Floura Teeter served as landscape architect on a new pre-kindergarten and kindergarten playground for the Park School, a non-sectarian, independent, coeducational day school located on 100-acres in Baltimore County with 875 students in grades pre-K through 12. The playground features age-appropriate equipment and a charming play house that allows the children’s imaginations to run wild. Sparks at Play and Floura Teeter collaborated on the equipment selection and layout, while Floura Teeter provided planting design for the entire site.
After successfully completing the landscape design for the playground, The Park School retained Floura Teeter to provide landscape architecture services associated with updating the signature identity element at the school’s main entrance. Working with an associated architect, Floura Teeter was responsible for site work including grading, site planting and location of the sign. Consistent with the overall campus, the monument blends a contemporary design with the natural landscape of the site. Stone outcrops and native plantings provide the foundation for the modern, steel structure of the sign.
