New Certifications, New Licensure and Awards

Floura Teeter applauds our team’s commitment to professional development through the addition of new certifications and expanded licensure.

  • Co-founder and Partner, Joan Floura, has completed the requirements to become a Designated Design-Build Professional (DBIA). The DBIA certification recognizes experienced, professional and knowledgeable practitioners who possess a qualified and quantified level of expertise in design-build. Floura Teeter has two Design-Build Professionals on staff and has experience on more than 10 design-build projects.
  • Congratulations to Ben Mayer who recently passed the Landscape Architect Registration Examination (LARE) to become a professional landscape architect. The LARE, divided into four sections, is designed to test a candidate’s competence to practice landscape architecture. It tests knowledge, skills, and abilities directly related to protecting public health, safety and welfare.
  • Landscape Designer, Anthony LaRocca, recently received his LEED Green Associate accreditation from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), keeping our professional staff LEED accreditation at 100%.
  • Landscape Architect, Zachary Baier, is now a Professional Licensed Landscape Architect in Pennsylvania, bringing our total staff licensed in Pennsylvania to five and furthering the firm’s commitment to expanding our services throughout the Commonwealth.

2018 WTS Employer of the Year

Floura Teeter was named 2018 Employer of the Year at WTS Baltimore’s Annual Meeting and Luncheon this past December. The firm was recognized for 75% of our senior leadership being women, 90% of our transportation projects being lead and managed by women, and for promoting women into leadership roles.
