Pathways & Places
Our Pathways Studio focuses on transportation enhancement projects such as streetscapes and highways, and our Places Studio focuses on site specific projects such as retail, recreation, housing, education, and hospitality.
In alignment with our culture, teams collaborate seamlessly across studios – an environment that fosters higher levels of information exchange, engagement, creativity, design excellence, and quality assurance.
What Our Pathways & Places Clients Can Count On
We understand the important differences between the goals, needs, and challenges of each type of project.

Capabilities
Creative and thoughtful design, backed by deep technical knowledge, is the hallmark of Floura Teeter’s landscape architecture practice. While we work in many different markets, communities, and ecosystems, we view each project as unique.
Design starts with research and understanding the opportunities, constraints, history, and culture of each place and results in beautiful, enduring outdoor spaces that support communities for decades.
From district-wide revitalization plans to park master planning, Floura Teeter has helped communities reimagine their spaces and transportation systems to meet modern standards and anticipate future needs. Our expertise across various markets allows our team to create realistic plans that consider the broader environment and the aspirations of the community.
Stewardship of natural resources is a core value at Floura Teeter. Whether the project is urban, rural, transportation, or community-based, protecting and restoring ecosystems for the benefit of both humans and nature results in vibrant, rich, and sustainable places. With ISA-Certified Arborists and LEED, SITES, WEDG, and EcoDistricts Accredited Professionals on staff, we evaluate and inventory existing features and apply systems thinking to integrate nature into the built environment.
A picture is worth a thousand words and the best way to communicate ideas and design is with high-quality graphics. Floura Teeter’s talented staff can create graphics that explain site conditions and proposed improvements and provide beautiful images to support marketing, fundraising and community engagement.
Every project has a community impact, and every community has specific aspirations and concerns related to the project. Floura Teeter is honored to engage with community members and stakeholders, actively listening in order to find solutions that align with their desires and address their objections. We use many techniques for this type of engagement and tailor our approach for each community. Techniques such as design charrettes (in person, virtual, or hybrid), pop-up events, project websites, surveys, use of precedent images, or broadcasts, and even attending community celebrations, all promote participation and secure valuable feedback, which then informs our design solutions.
Floura Teeter has over 15 years of experience supporting teaming partners on projects designed and constructed as alternative delivery methods. Providing up front analyses based on technical expertise and experience on a wide variety of projects allows our DBIA certified staff to identify issues, solutions, opportunities, and innovations.
