The purpose of the Cooper Avenue Widening project at Fort George G. Meade, is to improve operational efficiency and enhance traveler safety along the project’s improved roadway corridors including; Cooper Avenue, Reece Road, and Rose Street. This project encompasses 1.8 miles of roadway dualization of Cooper Avenue, Reece Road, and Rose Street, the design of a roundabout, drainage systems, and stormwater management.


Floura Teeter’s scope of work included inventory of existing forest and tree resources by a certified arborist, development of a streetscape planting concept that incorporates stormwater infrastructure plantings and mitigation plantings to satisfy forest conservation requirements, preparation of Landscape and Reforestation Plans and acquiring permits for construction ready contract documents in accordance with Fort George G. Meade Installation Planning Standards, Maryland Department of the Environment and Department of Natural Resources requirements.


Deliverables included inventory of existing forest and tree resources, development of a streetscape planting concept that incorporates stormwater infrastructure plantings and mitigation plantings to satisfy forest conservation requirements.
