Floura Teeter is managing the design-build renovation for the 15-mile Gwynns Falls Trail in west Baltimore. Working closely with Parks & People and the Baltimore City Department of Recreation and Parks, the team completed an inventory of features on the entire trail to assess needed renovations.
A ranking system was developed to prioritize work and unit prices were assigned to confirm that proposed work fit into the established budget. Working closely with the contractor, issues such as root pruning, crown pruning, asphalt replacement, bridge renovation, flooding debris removal and improved safety features are being addressed to prepare the trail for the next 20 years.
