Floura Teeter provided park master planning services including a robust community engagement process to develop vision, themes, and concept plans for a new destination park. Interactive workshops with Charles County staff and the public, both in person and virtual, were facilitated by Floura Teeter. The Final Master Plan and design recommendations are documented in a final report document.

La Plata Farm Park embraces the County’s rich agricultural history bringing that to the forefront of the master plan. The park is envisioned as a gathering place that can serve as the front porch for the community and as an education center where visitors can learn about gardening and the intersection of farming and everyday life.

The themes of agricultural heritage, community, and discovery are expressed through many of the park features encouraging a sense of exploration and informing the design of the playgrounds, demonstration and community gardens, greenhouse, sensory gardens, and passive use areas of the site.
