The Dulles Corridor Metrorail project consists of the construction of a 23-mile, 11 station extension of the existing Metrorail system from East Falls Church to Washington Dulles International Airport in Loudon County. The project’s primary focus is to provide transit services in the Dulles Corridor, provide an alternative to automobile transportation, and to support future transit-oriented development along the corridor.
Floura Teeter is involved in the Phase 2 portion of the work, which includes: the construction of six stations, over 11 miles of track/ guideways, and wayside components such as traction power substations and tie-breaker stations. As part of the design-build team, Floura Teeter provided landscape architectural services within the alignment to include design of stormwater management systems, bioretention, planting at wayside facilities, and irrigation.
